South End/Inlet Area Ocean City Maryland Vacation Rentals
The Ocean City Inlet was formed during a storm in 1933. The inlet separates the Ocean City resort area from Assateague Island to the south.
The southern portion of Ocean City, between the inlet and the Route 50 Bridge, is old-school Ocean City. You won’t find many high-rises here, but you will find lots of fun attractions such as Timpler’s Rides, The Oceanic Fishing Pier (bayside), the Ocean City Fishing Pier (oceanside), Inlet Park, the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum, Sunset Park, and Jolly Roger at the Pier.
There’s also a large parking lot at the inlet, where beach-goers can park for the day. This parking lot area also serves are an event space for annual events such as Summerfest and Bikefest.
